KUNC 91.5 FM picks Colorado Bluegrass Music Society picks
An extremely versatile musician, Ernie plays just about every instrument that has strings and more. He started out in the early 1970s playing guitar and drums. Then, when “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” and “Dueling Banjos” came out, he was inspired to learn the five-string banjo. Soon afterwards, he took up the mandolin, dobro, and peddle steel guitar.
Since then, Ernie has made music a full-time career as a performer, teacher, recording artist, and producer. Currently, he plays with Dakota Blond, Runaway Express, Timothy P. and Rural Route Three, The Jammy Man Band, and John Chandler. Ernie is also a member of the Swallow Hill faculty, teaching beginning through advanced-level students. Stylistically, his specialties are bluegrass and country.
On this special evening he will unveil his long-awaited solo CD. The CD and this performance feature special guests, among them members of Dakota Blonde, John Chandler & the Wichitones, Reckless Abandon, and Loose Cannon.
