With airtight harmonies that drive introspective lyrics and innovative arrangements, critics agree that acoustic-folk duo Storyhill proves that relevant, inspiring folk music didn't end with the likes of Simon & Garfunkel or Loggins & Messina. Billboard Magazine has said of the duo, “Storyhill has garnered strong support on the college and coffeehouse circuit. Their sound recalls the harmonious interplay of Simon and Garfunkel and the acoustic juice of the Indigo Girls.” For this concert, Storyhill is playing in support of their new album, Shade of the Tree, their sophomore release with the folk-powerhouse label Red House Records.
Over the past 15 years, Storyhill has moved over 50,000 copies of their 12 albums without label support. They continue to tour and manage an online fanbase that is 10,000 strong (and growing!). Recently signed by national label Red House Records, Storyhill looks forward to their partnership with this highly respected label of the folk community. In February of 2007 Chris and John's released a self-titled CD as their first with Red House. Following that the duo won the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award. Storyhill's much anticipated sophomore release on the Red House Record label is due out in April 2010. Produced by Grammy award winning artist and songwriter Dan Wilson, this next CD promises to uphold the duo's pure and original sound.
