After nearly a decade in The Byrds, frontman Roger McGuinn felt a solo career beckoning. 51 years later, not only is Roger still performing, but he may be saving folk music!
Roger's latest effort, the Folk Den project, is a box set of over 100 hand-picked, classic folk tunes. So why the sudden renaissance of traditional folk music? "I started out of concern that folk music was becoming so generic that people thought it meant Sheryl Crow or Jewel or something," Says Roger, "I wanted to preserve the traditional side of folk music, which I felt was getting lost in the shuffle."
