Tejana singer songwriter Tish Hinojosa is known for her voice that has been hailed for its purity and sincerety, for being sweet and expressive and “crystal-pure.” She is equally well-known for blending diverse styles of music including folk, country, pop, and
conjunto to name a few. She became a finalist in the 1979 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk competition, winning with the only two songs that she had ever written
to date. Over the years, since she has proven her musical abilities over again, she has recorded fourteen albums and counting. Tish has performed with musicians Bill and Bonnie Hearne and with Michael Murphy. Praised by the Boston Herald, “[Tish] has become an artist who deftly blends and styles of music: folk, country, pop,
conjunto and more. She has carved her niche in Spanish-language music, favoring a roots-oriented sound unlike the more mainstream pop style of the late Tejana
singer Selena, and she has always honored her cultural heritage within her
music.”

Tish's new CD Our Little Planet has been released on CRS in Europe in September 2008 (U.S. release pending). Inspired by her rediscovered love for country music, the 12 self-penned songs on this collection feature a deeply Americana mix of traditional bluegrass and Tish's trademark sound of contemporary folk and Tex-Mex. Presently, Tish is dividing her time between Austin, Texas and Hamburg, Germany, where she is remarried and happily residing. A biographical DVD, spanning the 30 years of her musical career, is in the making. She is also pursuing new forms of expression outside the realms of music, with the writing of a book about her family and her life.

New York-based singer-songwriter Amy Speace will open the show. After catching a performance at the SXSW music-industry festival, Judy Collins' manager brought Speace to the attention of Collins, who signed her to her Wildflower label. Her debut for the label, Songs For Bright Street, received warm praise from critics, including those in Europe, which has enabled her to build a strong touring base there.
