Join us for a special Halloween holiday evening when One Kind Favor (feat. ex-Shakedown Street members) comes back together to perform the classic Grateful Dead album, American Beauty, in its entirety.
Starting around the dawn of the Third Millennium, One Kind Favor was formed out of the love of the music and spirit of The Grateful Dead. Driven by their fondness of music experimentation and improvisation, fueled with seasoned talent and knowledge of music theory and harmonies, and bound only by the speed at which the mind can perceive, the band rocked Denver, the front range and mountain towns till two of the members moved away deep into the mountains. Along the way they shared the stage at several Colorado performances with Tom Constanten–the Dead’s original keyboard player–, Vince Welnick, Buddy Cage and Jeff Pevar.
Three years ago Jim (bass) and then Paul (guitar), joined renown Colorado band Shakedown Street. Along the way they were joined by Dave (guitar). As it happens when a bunch of musicians get together, a band breaks up. The three stringed minstrels decided to carry on their happy tunes. Joined by fair maiden Stef and Andy from Jersey, they will meet on Halloween at the great Daniels Hall at the Swallow Hill to perform Beautiful American music. A dancin’ good time can be enjoyed by all.
Dress up in costume and dance the night away as we will be making space on the dance floor. Beer will also be served.
Check out video of the Grateful Dead's performance of "Sugar Magnolia" from the American Beauty album.
