A nationally touring performer for the past four years, Boston-based singer/songwriter Teresa Storch has performed everywhere from clubs in Cambridge to a subway platform. She has shared stages and sidewalks with the likes of Entrain, Ryan Montbleau, Peter Mulvey, Jonathan Byrd and Rachel Sage. Her music has been described as a "bounding folk rock sound...mesmerizing vocal riffs" by Boston's Metronome Magazine and "Vega/Merchant-esque vocals...funky guitar work... fabulously catchy folk-genre'd tunes" by Boston Girl Guide.
Her latest album, Stream of Concrete, is an ambitious, stylish and remarkably diverse project, mixing Tower of Power with Sarah MacLachlan by way of Hoagy Carmichael. It goes from folk-rock to soul-pop, from the opening R&B horns and sultry vocals of "Your Story," to the southern-tinged, folk-rock of the title track to the confident funk of "Tongue-Tied." Featuring David Goodrich (Chris Smither, Jeff Foucault) on guitar, T Lavitz (Dixie Dregs, Widespread Panic) on hammond organ, Matt Gianarros on upright bass, and Laurence Scudder (The Ryan Montbleau Band), on viola, Steam of Concrete was mixed by Ben Wisch (Marc Cohen, David Wilcox, Jonatha Brooke).
Seamlessly mixing elements of folk, blues and rock, songwriter Megan Burtt will open the show.
